Cookie Policy
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site.
Cookies can be “persistent” or “session” cookies. Persistent cookies remain on your personal computer or mobile device when you go offline, while session cookies are deleted as soon as you close your web browser.
We also use other tracking technologies like web beacons, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyze our service. Additionally, we utilize localStorage in your browser, which allows websites to store data in your browser without an expiration date.
2. How We Use Cookies and Local Storage
We use cookies and local storage for several purposes:
- Strictly Necessary. These are required for the operation of our Site and the Fluxent client portal. They include, for example, cookies that enable security features like CSRF (Cross-Site Request Forgery) protection used in our forms (newsletter signup, contact / scoping form, in-portal actions). Our Django backend sets a CSRF cookie named
csrftokenand a session cookie namedsessionidfor authenticated users in the client portal. - Functionality. We use
localStoragefor lightweight UI state — for example, theview_as_rolekey remembers an admin’s “view as client” toggle across page navigations, and dismissed onboarding hints persist locally so they don’t re-appear on every visit. This data is stored on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. - Performance / Analytics. We may use cookies to understand how visitors interact with our Site — which pages are most popular, how long visitors stay, and whether they encounter errors. This helps us improve how the website works.
- Third-Party Cookies. Our Site may load resources from third parties (such as web fonts, error reporting, or analytics providers). These third parties may set their own cookies over which we have no control.
3. Specific Cookies / Storage We Use
Below are examples of cookies and local-storage items that may be used on our Site. The exact list may vary as we evolve the product.
csrftoken(Cookie) — used by Django to protect against Cross-Site Request Forgery attacks on forms and authenticated API calls. Strictly necessary.sessionid(Cookie) — used by Django to manage authenticated sessions in the client portal. Strictly necessary when you are signed in.view_as_role(Local Storage) — admin UI affordance to temporarily render the dashboard from a client’s perspective. Functional.
4. Managing Cookies and Local Storage
Most web browsers allow some control of most cookies through the browser settings. You can usually find these settings in the ‘Options’ or ‘Preferences’ menu of your browser. To find out more about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set and how to manage and delete them, visit www.aboutcookies.org or www.allaboutcookies.org.
You can also clear localStoragethrough your browser settings, typically found under ‘Clear browsing data’ or a similar option, though this may reset site preferences like the admin view-as toggle.
Please note that if you choose to block cookies, you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. Forms and the client portal will not work correctly without the CSRF and session cookies.
5. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We encourage you to review this policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Cookie Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
